Abstract
This study is entitled "School Efforts to Prevent Discipline Violations at Yabri Integrated Junior High School, Pekanbaru City". The background of this study is the high rate of student discipline violations such as truancy, playing with mobile phones in class, smoking, and disruptive behaviour that disturbs the learning environment. This study aims to determine the school's efforts in preventing disciplinary violations and to analyse the supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Informants consisted of the school principal, guidance counsellors, homeroom teachers, and students. According to the study's findings, the school implemented three types of prevention: tertiary prevention through special counselling for students who violated rules, secondary prevention through training and counselling, and primary prevention through character and discipline development. The contribution of teachers and parent collaboration did help these efforts, but they were hampered by a lack of resources and the impact of the outside world. In conclusion, the prevention strategies implemented by Yabri Terpadu Junior High School were effective in reducing student disciplinary violations.
