Implementation Of the Stunting Prevention and Management Program in Tualang District Siak Regency
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study focuses on the implementation of the stunting prevention and management programme in Tualang District, Siak Regency. Stunting remains a public health challenge that impacts the quality of future human resources. This study aims to determine how the stunting prevention and management programme is implemented by relevant parties, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The method used was descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants consisted of community health centres (Puskesmas), Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) cadres, village officials, and community members involved in the programme. The results indicate that the stunting prevention and management programme in Tualang District has been running quite well through Posyandu activities, nutrition education, supplementary feeding, and mentoring for at-risk families. Supporting factors for programme implementation include local government support, active participation of Posyandu cadres, and increased public awareness. However, obstacles remain, such as budget constraints, a lack of health workers, and low compliance among some residents with nutrition and health recommendations.
